NOKIN Traffic has produced a solar-powered road stud post aimed at reducing traffic accidents at night by improving guidance and danger warnings for night drivers.
This solar studs is said to provide visibility of road geometries within 900 meters ahead-10 times more than reflective road stud and can reduce traffic accidents by more than 70% at night. Solar studs uses solar high-intensity light-emitting diodes and does not rely on car headlights to work effectively.
Increased distance visibility allows drivers additional reaction time to cope with future road layouts. At a speed of 100 km / h (62 mph), the driver's response time increased from 3.2 seconds to more than 30 seconds.
This embedded solar studs use patented solar collection and storage electronics to drive high-intensity LEDs. The height of the sturdy shell of the embedded solar stud above the road surface does not exceed 4mm, which makes it difficult to be found by road users and can withstand the use of passing vehicles. It can withstand up to 40 tons of pressure and can be installed in the middle of the road.
